The Green Building Wedding, Brooklyn NY - Eugene and Elizabeth
When two Californians decide to get married on the East Coast to celebrate with their families and friends coming from all over and they bring some rain with them it looks quite magical!
Frankies 457 Spuntino Elopement, Brooklyn, NYC - Karah and Scott
When you have a couple who met at only 17 while working in a mall in Brisbane, Australia you know you are lucky to capture their love story. Karah and Scott got engaged during their first trip to New York and they both fell in love with the vibrant city. The decision to come back and get married in Brooklyn was an easy one. It was a day full of unexpected delays but, like I told Karah and Scott, I love the unexpected and promised it would all be great no matter what. And it was;)
Moments - Pacific North West
I took a little break from blogging and booked a last minute trip to Pacific North West. My friend Jessica and I drove up from San Francisco to Seattle stopping in many wondrous locations. This trip has been life changing! I had moments to reflect and I feel so refreshed and inspired to photograph weddings and be more creative and capture light and moments in new unexpected ways. Traveling is the one thing that leaves me inspired to always push harder and be more creative. I also feel the undeniable pull to shoot more celebrations in nature because natural elements give me so much piece and make for some amazing photos!
This trip was a journey through rain and unexpected sunshine in the North, getting wet and feeling comfortable being uncomfortable, surprise stops, closed roads, jumping over beach rivers, climbing different things, confusing fog with clouds, lots of good coffee and much much more. Here are a few shots that bring back so many memories. Also, if you are considering a relaxing honeymoon on Pacific North West please check out Wild Spring Habitat Cabins because the experience of staying there just for one night was transcendent.
Ventfort Hall Wedding, Lenox, Massachusetts - Danny and Molly
"Danny is the frosting on the cake and Molly is the foundation" - best relationship description I've heard during a ceremony:) But seriously it was a magical night with these two souls! I remember that chilly Massachusetts air, starry night, the anticipation of Molly coming down the aisle because these two decided to skip the first look, exploring the mansion and all its secret rooms, happy crazy dancing at the end. Good times!
Jardin de Buis Wedding, Pottersville, New Jersey - Alison and Tommy
Alison and Tommy had the most elegant and stylish wedding at Jardin de Buis. Never mind, it was seriously mind blowing! Just keep scrolling down:)
The Skylark Wedding, New York - Liz and Chris
I met Chris and Liz long before their wedding at a wedding show in Brooklyn. These two were so in love and very excited about the wedding day to come. I think the word 'exciting" is an understatement for how their celebration really felt! It was grand, it was emotional and it was gorgeous and crazy all at the same time! It was also the hottest August day I can remember but it didn't really matter:) After a beautiful ceremony the guests enjoyed cocktails on a rooftop bar at The Skylark followed by what I can only call "the most epic dance party ever"! Chris and Liz busted some crazy moves on the dance floor and their friends and family did not disappoint either:) Thank you once again to Chris and Liz for making me a part of their day and letting me capture all the fun!
Brooklyn Bridge Park, Dumbo Engagement Photos - Ashley and George
Ashley and George are possibly the goofiest people I've photographed:) We met in Dumbo to get some fun laid back engagement photos of them two and it was a blast. Can't wait for their wedding next year!
Point Dume, Malibu Engagement Session - Jessica + Brad
Los Angeles and Malibu hold a special place in my heart. My husband proposed to me on one of the many hills in the area. Needless to say, I was so excited to have an opportunity to come back and shoot this engagement session in my favorite setting ever - the mountains and the ocean. Jessica and Brad suggested Point Dume as a possible location and I couldn't be happier with the results. What I truly loved about these two is the fact that they were so ready to get their feet dirty and climb rocks with me:) It was a super windy day and we had some hiking to do but we had a blast shooting these photos right before sunset.
