Backyard Wedding Inspiration - A look back at some beautiful backyard weddings I got to photograph over the years!
With so many couples choosing to reimagine their wedding celebrations in 2020 and opting for outdoor ceremonies and tented receptions I thought it would be the perfect time to remember some of the beautiful backyard weddings I got to document in the past couple of years. This is a reminder that your own backyard can certainly be a beautiful place to gather but also gives you the freedom to be imaginative and creative. From lawn games to chilling by a pool with your guests to serving beers from a back of an old truck having a backyard wedding gives you so many opportunities to do it your way!
Ladies Pavilion, Central Park Microwedding, NYC - Christina & Andrew
Waited too long to share the sweetest intimate wedding of Christina and Andrew at Ladies Pavilion a little over a year ago! Love these two for their goofiness and adventurous spirits.
Best Of 2020 and How Couples Celebrated Love During Pandemic in NYC
Here is a look back at all the small and big celebrations of 2020! It was a testing year for all of us and I am so grateful for all of my couples for celebrating love in these weird times:)
Aurora Restaurant, Brooklyn, NY - Erica & Ryan
Erica and Ryan had an epic wedding day complete with getting ready at the bad ass William Vale Residence, strolling to a local oyster bar for some cocktails with their guests and then leading the second line parade down the streets of Brooklyn to their ceremony and reception at Aurora Brooklyn. One of the most unique wedding experiences I’ve documented in Brooklyn:)
Wythe Hotel Garden Terrace Intimate Wedding, Brooklyn, NY
Back before small weddings were a thing Shanaya and Chris got married amongst their closest family and friends in a gorgeous private Garden Terrace at Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn. Their stylish celebration was even featured on OneFabDay and it was certainly well deserved. You can check out all the beautiful details below! But most importantly I love how effortless and laid back their wedding felt. Shanaya and Chris let me get creative with what might seem like a pretty plain backdrop of concrete walls and garage doors before they exchanged their vows inside a cozy candlelit room surrounded by their loved ones.
Thank you for having me and thank you for making intimate weddings cool;)
Gurney's Star Island Resort Wedding, Montauk, NY
I can’t believe it’s been a full year since I made my way to Montauk to document this dreamy waterfront celebration of Jensen and Adam! These two got the most gorgeous late October day for their outdoor ceremony at Gurney’s Star Resort and the night ended with some epic dance floor action. What I loved the most about meeting Jensen and Adam is how special their relationships are with friends and family. It was an honor to witness so many emotional moments between everyone.
Center for Brooklyn History at Brooklyn Public Library Wedding, NY
Finally sharing this special celebration of Ashley and Julia in Brooklyn Historical Society. It was a laid back day exploring Brooklyn with these two and their bridal party followed by a beautiful ceremony set in a library room of the Historical Society building. From the moment I met Ashley and Julia at a coffee shop I felt so connected to their love story and their wedding day turned out to be full of so many touching emotional moments. It was truly a pleasure documenting Ashley and Julia’s love story and reminds me of why I miss weddings so much during this quarantine!
